Start with the basics

If a page does not load as expected on Windows 11, first check that the device is connected to the internet and that the correct page address is being used. Reload the page once, then wait briefly before trying again. If the issue continues, close the affected browser tab and open a new one.

It can also help to restart the browser. Save any other work first, close all browser windows, then reopen the browser and try the page again. If the problem affects only one page, test another page in the same browser to see whether the issue is limited to that page.

Check the browser

Use a current version of a mainstream browser that is supported on your Windows 11 device. If the browser displays a notice about an update, complete the update and reopen it before testing again. Avoid opening several repeated copies of the same page while a previous attempt is still loading.

Private browsing can provide a useful test when a page behaves differently from usual. Open a private window, enter the page address manually and check whether the result changes. If the page works there, the regular browser session may be affected by stored site data or an extension.

Review extensions and stored data

Temporarily disable browser extensions one at a time, especially those that block scripts, alter page content or manage privacy settings. Test the page after each change. If one extension appears to affect loading, leave it disabled for this site or review its settings.

Clearing stored data for the affected site may also help. This can remove saved preferences for that site, so note any settings you may want to restore first. After clearing the data, close and reopen the browser, then enter the page address again.

Check Windows 11 and the connection

Restart the Windows 11 device if the browser remains unresponsive. If other websites are also failing to load, check the local network connection and try again after reconnecting. A different network can be used as a comparison test where available.

Keep the browser window visible while testing and note the exact message shown on screen. Useful details include whether the page is blank, keeps loading, closes unexpectedly or shows a browser error. These details can make further troubleshooting more focused.

When the issue remains

Try the page again later if the same behaviour continues after the browser and device checks. Keep a record of the browser name, Windows version, approximate time and visible error message. Do not share passwords or other private account details when describing a technical problem.
